Ford’s Modular series V8s were born distributorless—ignition timing is computer-controlled via crank and cam position sensors. That’s a problem if you’ve converted a 2V mod motor to carburetors or have a stand-alone EFI fuel management system that doesn’t control ignition timing. Fortunately, Trick Flow’s Valve Cover-Mount Ignition Systems give you complete and accurate control of your mod motor’s ignition timing.
Designed specifically for use with Trick Flow’s Twisted Wedge® and Twisted Wedge Track Heat® cylinder heads for the 4.6L/5.4L 2V, the systems feature a valve cover-mounted MSD Pro-Billet distributor that is driven off the driver’s side camshaft. This gives you an adjustable mechanical advance and allows you to use a stand-alone ignition box to control timing. You also have a choice of a crank trigger or dual-pickup style distributor.
Trick Flow’s Valve Cover Mount Ignition Systems come with a pair of modified Trick Flow cast aluminum valve covers, a distributor mount and hold-down, a hex drive cam bolt and washer, spark plug wires, and all necessary brackets and mounting hardware. The systems require an ignition box compatible with an MSD Pro-Billet distributor, and relocation of the OE power steering reservoir, or conversion to manual rack and pinion steering. For racing use only.
