Seven Second Domination

Trick Flow Helps Denny Terzich Win Hot Magazine's Drag Week 2007

Take one 1967 Camaro. Mix in equal parts craftsmanship, determination, and raw horsepower. Wrench and test to a razor's edge. That's what it takes to dominate--and dominate is exactly what Denny Terzich and ProRides did at Hot Rod Magazine's Drag Week competition, with help from Trick Flow Specialties.

During Drag Week, competitors must drive 1,000 road miles and compete at five race tracks over the course of seven days--no haulers or support vehicles allowed. The overall champion is crowned "Fastest Real Street Car in America." Thanks to an 1,800 horsepower, 580 cubic inch engine sporting Trick Flow PowerPort™ Race 360cc aluminum cylinder heads and a ProCharger supercharger, Terzich and driver Steve Roth ran seven-second elapsed times at every track--a record in Drag Week competition.

Here is the list of honors the team earned during Drag Week:

  • Fastest 1/4-Mile Elapsed Time (7.64 seconds)
  • Fastest 1/4-Mile Average Elapsed Time (7.80 seconds)
  • Fastest 60 Foot Time (1.19 seconds)
  • Fastest 1/8-Mile Elapsed Time (4.89 seconds)
  • Fastest Chevrolet

"The Camaro ran great," Terzich said. “We ran the “street" tuneup (20 psi of boost) the entire week and could not have asked for better results. The Trick Flow PowerPort heads were a critical part of the overall package--they provided the huge amounts of airflow we needed to feed almost 1,500 horsepower to the rear wheels!“
