347 C.I.D. Five Liter

Dyno Results: 347 C.I.D. Five Liter
Test conducted with Trick Flow R-Series EFI Intake, BBK 70mm throttle body, 24 lb. injectors, EEC-IV ECU, 1 5/8" primary headers

Since the vast majority of stroker five-ohs end up in Mustangs, we set up our 347 as a fuel injected motor. We topped the 10:1 long block with a Trick Flow R-Series EFI intake, 24 pound fuel injectors, and a BBK 70mm throttle body. A Ford EEC-IV computer controlled fuel delivery and spark timing. It proved to be a good combination, producing 400-plus horsepower and 395 foot-pounds of torque.

Our 347 was one of the first test engines for Trick Flow's R-Series intake. A computer-engineered, "clean sheet" design, the R-Series is tuned to make power from 2,500 to 7,250 rpm -- ideal for built street and racing engines. The manifold has short, large cross section runners. This design is biased toward midrange and high rpm power production (longer, small cross section runners tend to make more torque at lower rpms), and flows approximately 290 cfm of air. Trick Flow has three other EFI intakes -- 5.0L Street, 5.0L Track Heat, and 351W -- that are equally as impressive as the R-Series.
